| Business Description: |
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire one of the premier children’s gymnastic businesses in Northern California. This gym offers recreation gymnastics, sports and physical fitness programs to children ages 1-10 years, in the East Bay. Starting with Toddlers, weekly “Mommy & Me” classes introduce basic tumbling, balance and movement development, combined with music, song and small equipment activities. “Kindergym” classes, targeting age three, teach basic tumbling skills, using games and positive motivation. The grade school program designed for ages 6-9 teaches recreational gymnastics, using all apparatus including bars, beams, trampoline and vaults. In addition to gymnastics and tumbling, classes are offered in sports skills development which teaches children age 4-6 the basics of grade school sports. On Weekends, organized children’s birthday parties are available with a gymnastics or sports theme. A rock climbing wall and a bouncer enhance the party experience.
Since 1994 the gym has been located in the same 4,585 square foot facility in a high-traffic outdoor mall surrounded by other major retail tenants. They are 1 year into a 5-year lease, with a 5-year option to renew.
In addition to the owner/general manager, the gym employs approximately 12 to 14 part time individuals. The key management employees include a Gym Director, Program Director, and Weekend Manager. Assistant Managers coach classes or run birthday parties, while being available to oversee operations in a manager’s absence. Other employees are either class coaches, or birthday party hosts. Most coaches have a gymnastics background, having participated and usually competed in the sport. Many have education or experience in child development, dance, cheer or a related field.
Approximately 80%+ of customers come from the surrounding communities. Customers choose this gym for it’s high level of customer service and its quality instructors. The vast majority of revenues are derived from the delivery of weekly gymnastics and sports classes. In addition weekend birthday parties, as well as Summer camp classes, are extremely popular. A small pro-shop on site sells leotards, T-shirts, sports bottles and other small items.
After 15 years this gym has built a reputation second to none in the community which is the number one source of new clients. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right buyer to continue to grow the business and take performance to the next level.
** Seller is willing to consider seller financing, for a portion of the sale price, for serious qualified buyers. **
